The Future of Wolves is in the wild
At Wolf Haven International, we believe wolves belong in the wild – not in captivity or under private ownership. After being harassed, hunted, trapped, and poisoned to the brink of extinction, wolves are finally making a comeback and actively repopulating forests, mountains, and prairies across Washington.
The presence of wolves in the environment can produce positive cascading impacts that benefit countless species. However, their presence can also stoke fear among humans, so we must engage and inform communities in a way that prepares them for living with wild wolf populations. The Future of Wolves Campaign will help Wolf Haven cultivate a thriving form of coexistence between wolves and humans.
To do this, we are embarking on a mission to modernize Wolf Haven’s original, outdated facilities by building a new state-of-the-art treehouse learning center to host our education programs. We believe this will help us change the way wolves are perceived and help them to find success in natural, wild spaces. Join us in this campaign today. Only YOU can help the future of wolves and make this project possible!
Elevate Education
By offering a variety of educational presentations about wolfdogs and advocating for wolves in the wild, we hope to inspire actions that foster empathy, while also maintaining sensitivity to the needs and concerns of those who are affected by wolves. As the only globally accredited wolf sanctuary in the world, Wolf Haven is uniquely poised to be a leader in wolf recovery efforts as wild wolves begin to repopulate the Olympic Peninsula and Southern Cascades surrounding our Washington sanctuary. With your help, we can create public learning spaces that serve as a hub for visitors to experience the wonder of wolves. Together, we can rebalance the ecosystem, elevate wolf education, and make a difference for the future of wolves.
Invest in the Future
The Future of Wolves Campaign goal is $750,000! Wolf Haven will work with individual donors, businesses, and private foundations to secure these resources, with the goal of raising the funding by summer 2025 when the treehouse learning center construction will begin. When the campaign is fully completed in 2026, a treehouse donor wall will recognize every supporter at the level of $5,000 and up. We need you now more than ever to help bring nature back into balance. Wolves have been missing from the landscape for over 100 years, and we are at a crucial turning point in western Washington to help lay the groundwork for permanent recovery in their natural habitat. You can forever change the perception of wolves and their vital role in our world.
