Wild Within: A Lens on Wolves

November 20, 2024 – January 5, 2025 • Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA

In conjunction with their Field Notes: Artists Observe Nature exhibit, Tacoma’s Museum of Glass has partnered with Wolf Haven International to display the Grand Hall installation Wild Within: A Lens on Wolves. This installation is a curated selection of professional photographs by Gelane Clements, Julie Lawrence, and Annie Musselman that showcase the beauty and significance of wolves – all of which have never been exhibited in public. The works reflect artists looking at nature to find inspiration, and also ask the viewer to reflect on the meaning of nature today.

Sanctuary as a Mindset

October 11, 2024 • 3:30pm • Wolf Haven International, Tenino, WA

Immerse yourself at Wolf Haven in a uniquely new, mindful way. Sanctuary as a Mindset: a contemplative experience at Wolf Haven International is an opportunity for guests to enjoy a quiet, peaceful visit that reflects our sanctuary philosophy. Participants can explore different avenues for respectfully and creatively embracing the presence of sanctuary wolves in a non-invasive and non-threatening way (quiet contemplation and appreciation, drawing, writing, etc). The time in the sanctuary will mostly be in silence.

Wildlife Handling Course with Dr. Mark Johnson

September 24 – September 26, 2024

Wolf Haven is once again hosting a three-day wildlife handling and chemical immobilization course offered by Mark R. Johnson, DVM of Global Wildlife Resources, Inc. Dr. Johnson has taught and worked on wildlife captures worldwide for over 30 years. He teaches students as well as professionals from federal, state, tribal, and private agencies. This course is one of the most extensive, current, and innovative chemical immobilization courses in North America, with hands-on labs each day including the immobilization of captive wolves.

Because space is limited, priority will be given to persons working with wildlife in the field or at wildlife facilities.
